Beginning with a 2 Year Development Period and more than $600,000.00 invested, there were 7 Prototype Bikes built, these were used for Certifying Ride Quality, Geometry Correction and Final Production Rim Widths.

Feb.1999  

The first fully completed 230 Motorcycle was built using the Widest Rim in the Industry At 8 1/2”. That was when everyone else in the industry then and for the next two years ran a 7” rim.

Spring 2000  

The Granddaddy Bike was the first motorcycle to feature a Twist Clutch and Single Pedal Brake System. This bike also established the formal AMEN look.

The Granddaddy was upgraded to a 9” wheel, widest in the industry at that point.

October 2001, Biketoberfest  

Mike created the very first 250 Motorcycle in the world as documented by Hot Bike and Street Chopper Magazine. This Bike surprised everyone in the Industry and was completed from scratch in 2 1/2 weeks. It included a set of flamethrowers, also a first in the industry, according to the Magazine Industry Guys.

Savior 2002, Daytona  

We had already built and assembled, in October 2001, the first set of Spinning Wheels, to which we mounted on the Savior. This was the First Bike documented day by day as we built it on the web site. It also incorporated the Granddaddy Twist Clutch and Single Pedal Brake System and featured a completely reworked Hidden Suspension Front Fork. Its Signature Look was created by using No Fenders at all. It is also known as my Beater Bike as I have had to rebuild the bike 3 times So far by knocking the paint off and busting up the chrome.

The Amen Chassis Works banner formally announced the 300 Tire a year and a half before it’s introduction.

Daytona 2003, YHWH  

The YHWH Motorcycle broke all the molds in the M/C Industry as being the first ever Big Twin Perimeter Frame, which was constructed by using No Down Tubes. It featured Dual Compound Curved and Tapered Construction achieved by the use of hand made tubing, which required approximately 250ft. on welding. In this design, we incorporated our Single Sided Swingarm Technology and many hidden components to keep the Bike clean. It also used another version of the highly modified Hidden Suspension in the front forks and included our Production Spinning Wheels. As usual, it incorporated the Twist Clutch and the Single Pedal Brake System. Mike entered and won his first Motorcycle Show in Sturgis, South Dakota, which was The First Inaugural Metzler Tires Custom Bike Show. The first prize was a Trip for Mike and his family along with the Bike to the EICMA Show in Milan, Italy. This is the largest Motorcycle trade event in the world. There were numerous features and TV appearances with this Bike and has been featured thru out the world.

January 2004, The Hubless Monster  

Mike began the year pulling out all the stops with his creation of The Hubless Monster Motorcycle. Many Secret conversations resulted in the creation of the largest Motorcycle Tire in the World, The 360x18 by Vee Rubber. Not stopping there, a 23” Diameter Tire was also developed. The mold production began and Mike started with the construction using plywood and steel “Models” of what the tire would look like. This new 360 Tire was so wide and with limited time for production (2 Months) that he decided on using friction drive technology from the Carnival Ferris Wheel, plus the drive system would have to be hidden. The bike would incorporate the most amount of sheet metal ever used on an Amen Bike. Mike decided to pull out the drawings for The Hubless Wheels that were 8 years old, and build A REAL Hubless Bike. The “Sheet Metal” resulted in being fabricated as boxed structural steel panels used to mount the wheels and drive system. This Bike is so Revolutionary and Historic that the following list is a breakdown of its accomplishments.

They are as follows:

1.)    The First Fully Functional Double Hubless Bike in the World.

2.)    The First Bike Fully Engineered and built without the Tires being in Existence

3.)    The First Custom Bike in the world to unveil a new tire on a completed Bike

4.)    The First Custom Bike in the world to have the Largest Motorcycle Tire in the world, 360mm.

5.)    The First Custom Bike in the world to have the new Industry Breaking 23” tire size.

6.)    The First Custom Bike to incorporate Friction Drive Technology with Hubless Wheel Design for a Total Clean Look.

June 2004 - March 2005

Upon receiving a call from The Discovery Channel a few short days before filming, Mike began construction of a radically different Old School Bike. It’s design came about by doing the exact opposite of what he usually does, which made it an easy bike to build because he used round tube construction rather than the “One Inch” at a time tubing he has become known for. The look of the bike resulted in an 11ft. long Masterpiece that still honored the Old School feel, though, thru the use of the 23” tire from the Hubless Bike, resulted in a Radical New Look for this type of Bike. The show first aired in March 2005 during Daytona Bike Week and has re-aired several times since. It is and will be the last time for a Biker Build-off for us with Original Productions.

October 2005

Beginning in October 2005 Mike Started to Give Back, in the Form of a Three Day Build A Bike School. Many Technical Highlights and History of the Wide Tire is Revealed, along with a Hands-on Experience that Paves the Way for Anyone to Build their Own Bike. There are further Class Subjects being Announced on the Website so this School can continue to Develop. The picture below is the Bike we use for the School.
